See for Yourself - The Brownie Archive 2007
Here are some photos of the featured Brownies so far. Click on the thumbnails to see a larger image.
Keep your New Year's Resolution to eat more healthfully with this 100% whole wheat Brownie. You'd never know it had whole grain from the moist texture, and a burst of orange flavor makes it anything but dull diet-food.
A Peanut Butter crust holds a dense fudgey center topped with a white chocolate and Peanut Butter icing. Feel the Love!.
Chocolate and Mint. A classic combo. 'Nuf said.
To 'gild a lily' is to unnecessarily adorn that which is already beautiful. I found this idea inspiring, and added a layer of coconut macaroon on top of a Brownie. Oh yeah, I threw in some hazelnuts too because there was no one around to stop me!
Strawberry Cheesecake and Brownie in the same bite; DO NOT DRIVE while eating this Brownie. It could blur your vision and alter your judgment. You've been warned.
Miss February,"Layers of Love" was the winner of the in-store voting. That means that this lovely chocolate & peanut butter confection will be making an encore for the month of June. The competition was fierce, and the featured flavors from January, March, and April each had devout fans. You'll have more chances to vote for your favorites as THE YEAR OF THE BROWNIE continues.
KNEADS has been hit by a "Blond Bombshell." According to June's customer opinion poll, a brownie without chocolate would be acceptable as a Brownie-of-the-Month. This beauty is more than acceptable. She's loaded with coconut, cashews, and white chocolate (which is technically not chocolate at all thought quite yummy anyway). For those purists who can't accept Miss July as a true Brownie...that leaves more for the rest of us!!!
Sounds dramatic, doesn't it? That's because it is! The darkest chocolate is pierced by rays of bright orange delight. White chocolate chips are scattered throughout like stars in a velvety sky. Dramatic enough? Wait until you taste it yourself. The most eloquent description submitted will win a dozen FREE Brownies. Entries will be accepted through the end of August. Pour a tall cold glass of milk and sharpen your pencils!!
This fudgey, frosted, praline studded beauty may not last eight seconds once you get your hands on it. Pendleton "Let'er Buck" whiskey in the frosting and Oregon hazelnuts inside and on top give this treat real cowboy character. Several early tasters declared that this is the best one yet. Taste it and decide for yourself.
Votes were cast all last month in the store to determine which of the previous four months' Brownie-of-the-Month flavors should return for an encore. The results were very close, but Miss May's tantalizing cheesecake and luscious strawberry swirl just edged out the other gorgeous competitors. Three cheers for another month of Brownie greatness!!
Though it is the traditional shape of a regular Brownie, this month's feature is truly a 'horn o' plenty.' Toasted pecans and coconut are packed into this fudgey delight before it's blanketed with freshly made, buttery caramel. Did I say pecans, coconut, AND caramel? You bet I did! I tried to reign myself in and make a simple Brownie....for about five seconds...but then I determined to GO BIG. This amazing adventure in chocolate decadence is only here for November, so don't delay your gratification.
The last month of this "Year of the Brownie" finds your favorite baker in Peppermint Paradise. It's true that we were all enamored with Miss March, Magical Mint, but this month's beauty is both frosted AND adorned with crushed peppermint candies. Not only is it loads of fun to whack the mints with a hammer, but the crunchy bits add great texture and eye appeal to this super-fudgey, minty, mouth pleaser. You, too will be in paradise when you treat yourself to some of these all-natural beauties.
